A Reason for Taylor Swift

A few years ago i'd written a post about the reasoning behind pop culture icon Taylor Swift. This is a continuation of one my favorite posts I've written.

Don't act like in 2006 you didn't casually pretend you didn't listen to "country" music, because we all know that most adolescent girls adored blond curly headed Taylor Swift. She was 16, writing songs that most 8 year old listened too. When people asked if you liked country, you said yes -cause T-swift was country back in '06. Boys of all ages would call her "hot" because let's be real who can't resist a curly headed blond. There was your first reason for Taylor Swift right there; she was the "it" girl

Aside from that High School Musical fad you were also currently attending too, Taylor Swift became that American sweetheart who had that affordable clothing line at Walmart. And you owned every piece. You may have learned to play the guitar because she played the guitar, and now you found yourself wearing her clothing line while casually playing the guitar around your house.

The album "Fearless" has just debuted, and "Love Story" was your junior high theme song, because it played at every dance you had. Blond locks were still in, and those three cords you knew on the guitar were enough to impress your "boyfriend" you only saw at school, because you were still 12.

When you finally experienced your first breakup from that boyfriend you only saw at school, it was then you really had a reason for Taylor. Those lyrics really had an impact on you, as you looked out into distant space recalling all those memories you in fact didn't have with your now ex.

"Speak Now" was about the time everyone in the world knew about Taylor Swift, she was like kinda-country-but-kinda-not, but you still said you liked country just in case. Every song off that album was playing on the radio station in your home town, and all your girlfriends including yourself were blasting it because 9th grade was a rough year for everyone.

Once "Red" finally came out, you actually had a real reason to cry to it. Boys broke your heart, and that funny goat video to "Trouble" often times cured the sadness. You've now seen Tay-Tay live, and no longer want your long locks because short and sassy are in. Country is out of the question. Oh, now Tay is a Victoria Secret model too... now you really want to be her.

Now it's 2015, Taylor Swift may or may not be the richest-stylish-it-girl ever, You know are breaking your bank to see her 1989 tour, and even though "Shake it off" plays on the radio 3xs every hour, you still downloaded it. She is now the only thing you listen too when you have a bad break-up. Now you find yourself screaming to "Bad Blood" in your car on your way to the gym, all while keeping it a secret because that's embarrassing.

What's a guitar again?

Love or hate her, you still had a reason for her, even now in the secret depths of your car you still sing "Style" under your breath, and may or may not have the 2014 Victoria Secret fashion show recorded simply because of her amazing outfit. And you laugh at every GIF made of her.
